Internationell forskning

Det har forskats på yoga under hela 1900-talet och det finns tusentals vetenskapliga undersökningar runt yoga och meditation och dess mätbara effekter på kropp och själ.

 

På 1910-talet forskade den tyske hudläkaren och nervspecialisten Johannes H Schultz kring olika former av yoga och hypnos som resulterade i ett avslappnings- och meditationssystem – autogen träning, som än idag används inom idrottsvärlden.

 

Den schweiziske psykologen Carl Jung gav 1932 en serie föreläsningar om Kundaliniyoga, då yogaformen kompletterade hans egna psykologiska teorier. Dessa seminarier finns utgivna under titeln The Psychology of Kundaliniyoga.  (Princeton University Press 1996).

 

I dag forskas det intensivt över hela världen runt yoga och dess påverkan psykiskt och fysiskt.

 

I databasen PubMed (The National Library of Medicine, Washington, USA) – finns inlagt flera tusen forskningsrapporter från hela världen som på olika sätt och i olika sammanhang visar på yogans och meditationens mätbara effekter.
